AMSTERDAM CONFIRMED AS LOCATION FOR EUROBEST 2009

The Festival, successfully launched in 2008 in Stockholm, Sweden, will take place on 25-27 November 2009 in Amsterdam’s historical Beurs van Berlage building located in the heart of the city. During the 3-day event, top industry leaders will address the issues, challenges and opportunities that European agencies deal with on a day to day basis. The Festival culminates with the judging and presentation of the 22nd Eurobest Awards, now established as Europe’s largest awards for creative advertising.

“The decision to stage Eurobest in Amsterdam was obvious once we came here and met the creative community,” said Philip Thomas, CEO of Cannes Lions, organisers of Eurobest. “There is an overwhelming sense of creativity in the city, you can feel it everywhere. The energy and passion of this city means it was an easy decision to bring the Festival to Amsterdam.”

Job Cohen, Mayor of Amsterdam added, "Amsterdam has a great creative and cultural tradition. But also more and more creative industries are now settling down in Amsterdam. The city of Amsterdam is proud to host this year’s Eurobest advertising festival, contributing to Amsterdam as becoming the creative capital of Europe."

Eurobest Advertising Festival is pleased to offer a great range of networking opportunities which are included in the delegate registration package. On Thursday 26th November, Eurobest will again stage the successful Networking After-dark evening. From 6pm, delegates will be able to visit the offices of local agencies, meet the creative teams and enjoy the hospitality of Dutch agencies including 180 Amsterdam, Wieden+Kennedy, de-construct Amsterdam, Nothing, Sid Lee and Bureau Pindakaas.

In 2008, the Eurobest Awards attracted 5896 entries from 680 companies in 38 countries and welcomed over 650 delegates over 3 days. The Eurobest Festival includes a seminar programme, exhibition of the Eurobest shortlist, Young Creatives Integrated Competition hosted by Miami Ad School, and the 2009 Eurobest Awards and Festival Party.
